A Good Day at Campus Ministry

A letter from our Campus Minister Mr. Gendron,

I would like to share with you the wonderful expierence our students had today with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. As in the past, our Catholic Studies students were called down to the chapel for a brief prayer service and then invited to stay for the Sacrament. With us today was Fr. Moe (our priest chaplain) and Fr. Lujbo from St. Francis.

Today, we had six classes visit from 9am - 2:30pm. I am pleased to tell you that about 40 per cent of the students in each class participated in the Sacrament. These students expressed gratitude not only to me and their classroom teacher, but also to the priest.

In addition the students who chose not to participate, instead joined together in a very faith-filled and inspirational discussion on forgiveness and healing. We also had a few staff and students who took the opportunity to share in the sacrament over the lunch period. I actually could have used additional priests. Today was a very good day here in Campus Ministry.

Teaching Mass at Catholic Central

On November 26, our school priest chaplain, Fr. Moe Charbonneau will be celebrating a "Teaching Mass" during period 1, 2, and 4 for our Gr. 10 students. The Mass will take place in the school chapel. This is a great opportunity for our students to experience the Mass on a more personal level and learn something about the celebration.

Welcome to the 2013 OFSAA Girls' AA Basketball Championship Website

PLEASE NOTE: There was an error in start times for some games on Thursday. The schedule has been updated with the correct times. Also, the photos are on THURSDAY, not Wednesday.
We have been receiving numerous requests for practice time on Wednesday. There have been so many requests that there is no way to accommodate everyone. To be fair, we are not offering practice time to any teams. We have allowed for 1:50 between everyone's first game to give your players extra time on the court for warmups.

Beyond Bullying at CCH

Beyond Bullying

Today we had Beyond Bullying present to our students.  Here is a little about them:
Beyond Bullying is an evidence based program that is designed to help teens understand the risks involved to self and others when as they pertain to bullying. Bullying behavior has been linked to other forms of anti-social behavior such as vandalism, shoplifting, skipping and dropping out of school, fighting and the use of drugs and alcohol. Many young people are unaware their behaviors are considered bullying or of the legal consequences of those behaviors and the devastating effects to everyone involved. The goal of this program is to educate youth to use alternative methods to resolve problems rather than using bullying behaviors and to educate them about bullying, bias based offenses and hate crimes. Providing teens with this opportunity reduces the likelihood of them repeating their bullying behavior.
