In volleyball action last night, the junior boys ran over the Running Rebels of Riverside.  Though the boys took the match 2 games to 1 with scores of 25-19 and 25-21,  the third game proved more difficult.  Battling back from an 18-6 deficit, the junior comets could not pull off the triple, losing 19-25.  Going forward, the boys will consult with part-time broom baller, PJ Cacilhas on how to sweep.  This win advances the boys to six wins and zero losses.  Great job gentlemen.  Practice late this afternoon, 4 pm sharp.

 Congratulations to the senior football team on their win against
Riverside 44-6.  It was a great team effort and the run game took centre
stage.  The Offensive Line opened up huge holes for the running backs and
the defensive line challenged Riverside.
Congrats to Moe Fakih on his two touch downs, Donald "Houdini"
Mensah for his three tds.  Dominic Johnson threw for a great
game and put a touchdown on the board.  Andrew Beaton got all 6 converts.

The Junior football team played an amazing game on Wednesday from start to finish, and even in defeat they showed the league they are a team on the rise and can not be taken lightly.

The senior football team has a game tonight at 5pm @ Windsor Stadium and would love to be cheered to another victory from the students and faculty of CCH.  Hope to see you at the game.

The Junior Boys Volleyball team continued their winning ways last night against UMEI winning 2 out of 3 games, taking the match.  This win brings the Junior Comets to a record of 5 wins and zero losses and maintains their first place position in the league.  Great job gentlemen.  Early practice on Monday.  Be prepared to "Bring It"!

TIME: 9:45 am due to the police presentation.

Please, I have a few requests from the school to help make a successful retake day.

-Could you please provide us with an up to date student listing with ID#'s, date of birth, and homeroom. The photographer will pick it up from the office.

-1 helper to assist us

 

RETAKES OPTIONS:

1.       New students or absent on photo day.

2.       Any student not pleased with their photo package

NOTE: Students must return their photo package to the photographer.           

3.       Any student who wishes to purchase a photo package. 

4.       Lost student card a $5.00 replacement fee.

Lifetouch Photography will be back on Tuesday October 27th to take pictures of the students who are on the list outside the Main Office.  If you wish to purchase a package, please bring your payment on retake day.  For students who have lost their student cards replacement cost is $5.00. Fwd(2): Sr Girls B-ball announcement


The Sr. Girls basketball hosted the Assumption Purple Raiders last night and came away with their best offensive performance of the year scoring a 85-45 win. The girls hit 8, 3 pointers.

Leading the way was Kiera Washington with 19pts, Taya Butler with 14, Nyapini James 14 and Sienna Nuckles with 12.

Thanks to all the loud fans that cheered us to victory. It was much appreciated.

Fwd: Socks for SAC Update


The Sock drive continues this week as we'll wrap it up on Friday. After today, their is a tie for the top leading student with both Spencer Cooper and Malik Johnston tied at 46. Right behind then is Olivia Boutet with 40, and still in the hunt is Theodore Johnson with 32.

The top class took a shocking turn last night with Ms. Palameta bringing in another 50 pairs of socks, bringing her total to 150, leaving behind Ms. Mclure's class with 90. Also waiting in the wings is Mr. Nuic's class with 75.

Remember, each student will get a free dress down if you bring in six items or $6. The drive will end on Friday, so please make that final push for a great cause.

The junior girls basketball team played a passionate hard fought game against the powerhouse St. Anne Saints.  Leading scorers for the Comets were Silvana Lopez and Nina Salama.  Enormous team spirit and special thanks to the support and cheer leading section of the senior girls basketball team and our loyal fans.  Juniors never gave up reaching our team goal of 20 points against the reigning WECSSAA champs.  Well done ladies.  Game tonight 530pm against Assumption, please be in the big gym by 4pm to support the seniors.

Fwd: U of W Engineering bridge competition winners


Congratulations to Kali Fakih, Rafal Janczura, and Ibrahim Fakih for placing 1st, 2nd, and 4th at the University of Windsor's bridge building competition. There were over a dozen high school competitors from around the city as well as 50 elementary. Well done!

Any cross country runners who want to run at Malden today right after school need to tell Mrs. McClounie by the end of lunch. She will be in the gym office all lunch period. If she doesn't see you, she is assuming that you are NOT going to Malden with her and that you are doing your own workout here. You need to pick up a consent form for wecssaa which is Wednesday! These are found right outside the gym office.

Fwd(2): Sr Girls b-Ball announcement



The Sr. Girls basketball team travelled to Lajeunesse for the L'Essor Tournament this weekend. The girls opened the tournament with a 70-27 victory over L'Essor. Leading the way were Bosana Said with 24 pt and strong defensive play by Nyapini James.

The 2nd game was shorted to 3 quarters instead of 4 and the lady Comets defeated St. Joe's 26-22.  In the Championship game, the girls never quit but fell short to Essex 52-37. The girls showed a lot of heart and look forward to continuing to improve the rest of the season. Taya Butler, Nyapini James and Bosana Said continue to lead the team as we improve.

The next home game is Tues at 4:00 vs Assumption. Make plans to be there.

The senior football team played an amazing game Friday night as they faced many challenges throughout the contest. Even in defeat, the team showed class and determination. The junior boys put a leash on the Dogs and took the match in three straight sets.   The win brings their record to 4 wins and zero losses and keeps them in first place. Great job gentlemen. In volleyball action last night, the junior boys travelled to Tomato Town to battle the Cardinal Carter Cougars. The junior boys took the match in three straight sets, giving them a 3 and 0 record and putting them in first place in the league.  

When asked about the sweep, the boys credit watching the Dick Van Dyke chimny sweep scene in Mary Poppins and curling in the off season.  

Great job gentlemen.  Meet in the main lobby immediately after school to board the bus.  Please be punctual.

Junior girls basketball team fought hard against a very athletic Rebels team and came up short.  Leading scorers Mori Motto with 9 points and Silvana Lopez with 6 points led the Comets with Aleitte and Ayack Deng playing hard under the basket and defending very well.  Practice today and tomorrow at 245pm in the small gym.

Fwd(2): Sr Girls Bball announcement


The Sr. Girls Basketball team defeated the Riverside Rebels last night 53-28. Leading the way was the outstanding defensive performance by Nyapini James who was a ferror on the boards.
The Sr. Comets were lead in scoring by Bosana Said with 13pt, Taya Butler with 12 and Kierra (Kiki) Washington also with 12 pts. Thanks to all the fans that came out to support the team. Our next home game is Thurs. at 4:00. Hope to see you there.

Congratulations to the Senior Boys Football Team for an amazing game on Thursday. Donald Mensah returned a 108 yd kick off return for a touchdown for the first play of the game.  Donald ran for 2 more touch downs.  Michael Emanuel caught 2 Touch downs from Dominic Johnson.  Andrew Beaton had 5 converts, a single, 2 field goals (one was 35 yards the other was 45 yards). Defense had a safety to round out the scoring.  The final score was 44-18.  Congratulations on a great team effort! See you tonight at practice.

Senior and junior girls basketball teams host Riversdie today at CCH.  Seniors at 4pm followed by the juniors at 530pm.  Seniors please meet in the gym after school to set up.

On Thursday the juniors and seniors basketball teams played at Sandwich.  Juniors lost a hard fought game to a very strong rebounding Sabres team 34 -20.  Silvana Lopez lead the team with 8 points and Samhar Gezehey followed with 6 points.  Seniors battled to the buzzer losing 47-43.  Girls played very well as a team, demonstarting their depth and confidence.  Bosana Said led the Comets with 14 points and Keirra Washington with 12 points.  Great job ladies!

The Junior Boys Volleyball team won their first match of the season last Thursday against L'Essor.  Shaky passing and mental errors lead to a 20-25 loss in game one.  Your Comets battled back from a 23-16 deficit for a 25-23 win in game 2.  Now energized with the momentum from game two, the junior boys grounded the Eagles in game three with a score of 25-17, clinching the match.  Great job gentlemen.  Practice tonight at 2:35pm.
