Congratulations to seven of the Comet wrestlers who competed in the Windsor Christmas Invitational tournament held yesterday at Tecumseh Vista Academy. Each team member competed extremely well and show great promise for the upcoming season. Individual winners from the tournament were; Mario Angelo and Ronaldo Asy earning 4th place finishes and Nestor Lopez and Gabe Tunaj finishing 2nd earning silver medals in their respective weight categories. Mr. Mallen wants to meet with the wrestling team today in his classroom to pick up some forms before you leave for the day.

The first person or persons to find the elf, please bring it to members of Student Council in the main Lobby when tickets for the Christmas Basket Raffle and the Elf movie are on sale.
This announcement is to commend all of the CCH Music students for an outstanding Christmas Concert last week! Three performances in one day is very demanding - you made Mr Bergeron and everyone here at the school extremely proud!
No band rehearsals this week.
Choir will meet Wednesday after school for our final Christmas Mass preparations.
The Elf on the CCH Shelf is now officially underway. If you find the elf, you instantly win a gift. Please bring the elf to members of student council in the main lobby during lunch.
Here are the rules:
1) A clue will be given each day during announcements.
2) You may not enter any place out of bounds or a classroom without a teacher present.
3) You may only search for the elfr during lunch.
The clue is: Dress down passes are on sale for Wednesday. Dress up day is this Friday.
Sign up sheets for co-ed volleyball and ping pong are outside the gym office. Should there not be enough interest in these to sports by Thursday we will move onto the next intramural sport. Put your teams up with your players and ping pong there are single and double options.

Congratulations to the Sr. girls volleyball team who took a win last night against Kennedy 2 sets to 1. Reminder to girls about practice tonight right after school.
Dress down tickets for the December dress down day will be sold starting on Monday and Tuesday at lunch and Wednesday morning. The dress down day is on Wednesday December 16th. As always tickets are 2$ and 3$ on Wednesday morning!
Junior and senior boys intramural finals have arrived. The final four teams tip off at lunch in the big gym. Come and see the great basketball talent of the sharp shooting of Eddy Hughes' team facing off against Pascal's agile squad for the juniors while Everett Scott's 3 pointers may prove to be the difference against Manny's talented group of players.

Congratulations to the Sr. girls volleyball team who opened their season on Tuesday with a game against Lajunese. With 3 games already under Lajuenes's belt the girls manages to snag a set from them in their season opener. The girls play again tonight in our gym against Kennedy. Jr.'s at 4 and Sr.'s to follow. Congratulations to the senior boys basketball team for their 89-50 win over Riverside last night and moving their record to 2-0.

This Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association Young Authors Contest is now open and accepting poems, short stories, non-fiction, and plays for 2016. CCH has had many provincial winners in previous years and we are looking forward to this year's entries.

Attention Senior and Junior football players! Our banquet is tonight! Doors open at 6pm and dinner starts at 6:30pm at the Caboto. They are back! Mrs. Fraser will be selling "Walking Tacos" in the front lobby during lunch time tomorrow, Tuesday, December 8. Five dollars for a bag of doritos filled with meat, cheese and sour cream. Support your school council, so they can support you!
Student Council will be showing Elf after school on Thursday in the Auditorium. An entry fee of $1 wil automatically enter you in the Christmas Basket Raffle. There will be a variety of treats and hot buttered popcorn available.

Good luck to the students participating inthe University of Windsor Prgramming Competition today. These students will be competing against teams from Windsor to Chatham. It has been over ten years since CCH has participated in the competition and this years" competitors are tough. Catholic Central has entered 3 teams this year. Two teams will compete and the third team will act as an alternate. Good luck to all!
The Junior Boys Basketball team lost a hard fought game last night to the Massey Mustangs, 50-35. The boys played hard and competed until the final buzzer. The coaches are very proud of your efforts. The team travels to Chatham this weekend to play in the UCC junior tournament. Boys, you are reminded to meet at CCH at 5PM to leave for Chatham.
The Senior Boys Basketball team kicked off their regular season campaign on Thursday night (last night) with a resounding win over the Mustangs of Massey. The Final score was 68 to 42. The Comets jumped out to a commanding lead as they posted a 36 to 10 halftime score and put it on cruise control for the second half.
Najee Brown-Henderson lit up the scoreboard with 29 points and Donald Mensah chipped in with 16 points of his own. The game featured a couple of spectacular dunks for the entertainment of the crowd and the debut of Johnathon Nicola who displayed his dominance of the key, both on the offensive and the defensive ends.
The team is on the road this weekend, in fact, exactly as we speak, to play in a tournament in Hamilton. We wish them the best of luck and expect them to return with some silverware, of course!!
