Fwd: Prom Ticket announcement



Attention Grade 12 students, PROM TICKETS will go on SALE next Wednesday. Prom tickets are $60.00 each, and you must have completed your volunteer hours, as well as have your contract signed by parents to purchase a ticket. Prom tickets will be on sale Wednesday for $60.00 per ticket, and volunteer hours and contract must be submitted to purchase a ticket. Prom is Saturday, May 28. Guest contracts are available, see Ms. Csepregi, Ibrahim or the office for guest contracts.

Any GRADE 12 student who wishes to submit photos for the grade 12 prom video, please see Ms. Csepregi.

Attention all student-athletes on June 14th a representative from Biosteel Nutrition will be giving a seminar after school on recovery and nutrition in aiding athletic performance and excellence.  This nutritionist has worked with such athletes as Andrew Wiggins and Steven Stamkos and is looking forward to meeting the CCH school community.  Go Comets!!!

The Arts Department would like to congratulate all the students who were involved with this years ArtsFest.  The singers, dancers, musicians, MCs, stage hands, tech crew, etc all worked together as an awesome team to create one of the best performances our stage has ever seen.  We are all so proud of your hard work, dedication and the professional level show you presented to almost 1500 people.  Well done everyone!

Fwd: Star Wars Movie Night



Strong is the Force at CCH. On Tuesday the 19th The Force Awakens after school in the auditorium as the Catholic Central Comic Club presents Star Wars:The Force Awakens Movie Raffle.

One dollar gets you into the raffle for Star Wars Prizes and Admission to The Force Awakens. Raffle Tickets will be available to buy today during lunch. Drinks and Hot Buttered Popcorn will be served during the movie.

The movie is open to any Catholic Central Student.

A school trip to Cedar Point has been scheduled for May 23rd. This will be an all day visit to the park available to Catholic Central Students.

The cost of the trip is $100 dolllars that will be due no later than May 17th. You must have proper documentation to cross the border into the United States.

The trip is a first come, first serve basis with limited seats on the bus. Members of student council will begin to sign up students after Spirit Week. Only turning in the complete amount reserves your seat on the bus.

The senior girls soccer team remain undefeated with another 0-0 tie against Cardinal Carter.  Jessie Miller recorded her second shut out of the season.  Defense once again was solid along with the very aggressive play of Jessalyn Lefler in the midfield to keep the score tied.  Practice is cancelled ladies, have a great weekend, practice on Monday 230pm at Teutonia.

The playoffs for intramural soccer begins Monday and is posted outside the gym office.  Team captains please check to see when yoour team plays.

Even though the senior girls soccer team started off the season by abandoning their coach on the sidewalk, the opened with a 0-0 tie against the Kingsville Cavaliers.  Jessie Miller was solid in net with a stellar defnesive line led by Paige Rocca, Haiden Elliot, Nyapini James and Mariam Aoude.  A great team effort, well done ladies!  Lady Comets take on Cardinal Carter tomorrow in Leamington, let's make sure Miss is on the bus before we leave!

Please meet in the gym immediatley at the beginning of lunch for a very important meeting.  DO NOT BE LATE!

After the second day of Spirit week, Mr. Gravalese slid into the lead with 60 points followed by Ms. Guentte with 50.

After the first day of Spirit Week, Mr. Mallen, Mr. Gravalese and Ms. Houlahan are tied with a total of 40 points. Each student earns 10 points for accenting their uniforms.

Fwd: Sr Boys Soccer: CCH 2 - FJB 1


The senior boys soccer team opened their season with a solid 2 - 1 victory over Brennan.

Leading the way offensively was Alaa Youssef with the opening goal followed by Sam Tshiani with the game winner.

The defense - led by Muntadher Al - Rabeeah and Kyle Durocher - played very strong throughout the game.

No practice Friday.

Practice on Monday will be at 4pm at Teutonia Park.

Next game is Tuesday at Westview Academy.

Spirit Week is set to open next Monday and will continue all week. Grade levels will compete to earn a free dress down by participating in lunch time games and accenting their uniforms.

Yesterday, the Junior Men's and Women's Badminton Team travelled to St. Clair College to battle for entry into next week's WECCSSAA tournament.  Your Comets battled valiently against some formidable competition, but in the end came up just short of qualifying for WECSSAA.  Honourable mention goes to our Women's Doubles team of Katrhin Akrim and Angelie Pare and many thanks to all of those athletes that dedicated their time, energy and heart to the team this year.  Your coach and all of the CCH community is very proud of you.

Congratulations to Alex Nicoletti and Danny Debroe for finishing in the top 5 in boys doubles at the WECSSAA Senior warm-up Invitational badminton tournament.  Respectable showing on the Friday singles play from Hannah Cho, Daniel crosby and Fadi bahi who went 2-2 in their respective singles matches.  Good luck to all badminton players in their City tournament this week.

The cost of the trip is $95 dolllars that will be due no later than May 17th. You must have proper documentation to cross the border into the United States.

The trip is a first come, first serve basis with limited seats on the bus. Members of student council will begin to sign up students this Friday. A down payment of $20 for anyone that intents to go is due April 22nd. You are welcomed to pay the complete amount before then. If the minimum number of attendence is not reached by April 22th, the trip wil have to be cancelled. Only a down payment of $20 is due by April 22nd.

This Saturday three Design students will be competing in the 3rd Annual St. Clair College Architectural Design Competition. These students have been working at lunch and home to prepare for Saturday where CCH will attempt to win for the 3rd year in a row.
Ibrahim Fakih, Khalil Fakih, and Drake De La Torre will each receive a $500 bursary for competing. The winner of the competition will advance to the Skills-Ontario competition in Waterloo to compete against the best in the Province. This student will receive an additional $1000 bursary.

If you see them wish them good luck.

This past Saturday Ibrahim Fakih, Khalil Fakih, and Drake De La Torre competed in the 3rd Annual St. Clair College Architectural Design Competition. Participants had 3 hours to design and draw a small 2 bedroom cottage which met a list of specific criteria. Fully dimensioned construction drawings were created with AutoCAD and consisted of a floor plan with 4 elevations.
Each student received a $500 bursary for competing.
Mr. Spina is pleased to recognize Drake as he placed 2nd which advances him to the Skills-Ontario competition in Waterloo to compete against the best in the Province. Drake will receive an additional $1000 bursary.
Jax Beckett also represented CCH well in the Photography category.
Excellent work by all involved!
